Classic Creme Brûlée Recipe

Creme Brûlée is a classic French dessert. With its crunchy caramel top layer and aromatic custard underneath, this is one dish that you should try out at home. With this recipe you can prepare this dish easily with only three ingredients that are available everywhere.

Ingredients
Egg Yolks – 5
Golden Castor Sugar – 1/2 cup
Whipping Cream – 400ml
Crushed Vanilla Seeds – 1/2 teaspoon

Instructions:
1. Add the egg yolks in a bowl and whisk for one minute with a hand/electrical whisk.
2. Heat the whipped cream in a pan on medium heat while constantly stirring.
3. Remove the cream from heat and add slowly to the whipped egg yolks while still hot. Keep constantly stirring the whole time.
4. Remove the foam that is formed on top the mixture.
5. Place the ramekins in a baking tray. The tray should be deep enough to cover the height of the ramekins.
6. Fill the ramekins with the cream-yolk mixture to the brim.
7. Add some water to the tray to cover about half way up the height of the ramekins. Cover the ramekins with a baking sheet.
8. Bake at 180°C/350°F for 30 minutes.
9. Remove the tray from the oven. Sprinkle golden castor sugar on top to cover the whole surface of the custard.
10. Caramelize with a blow torch until the sugar turns to golden brown.
