Ingredients |
Bell pepper(Capsicum) – 3 |
Hot Chillies – 4 |
Chicken breast – 1kg(2lbs) |
Salt – 1 teaspoon |
Szechuan Sauce – 2 Tbsp(checkout our recipe for Szechuan sauce) |
Soya Sauce – 4 tsp |
Corn starch – 2 Tbsp |
Egg – 1 large |
Vegetable oil – 1/2 cup |
Ginger – small piece |
Garlic – 3 cloves |
Tomato sauce – 2 Tbsp |
spring onions – 2 |
Instructions: |
1. Chop bell peppers, ginger, garlic and hot chillies into small pieces. |
2. Cut chicken breast into small cubes about 2cm(1 inch) in size |
3. Add 1 teaspoon of salt into the cut chicken pieces. |
4. Add 2 Tablespoons of Szechuan Sauce. |
5. Add 2 Teaspoons of Soya Sauce. |
6. Add Corn starch. |
7. Add 1 egg. |
8. Mix all the ingredients and keep for 15 minutes. |
9. In a pan heat vegetable oil and deep fry the marinated chicken pieces. |
10. Remove the chicken pieces when they turn golden brown and fry the chopped bell peppers in the remaining oil. |
11. When the bell pepper starts to soften, add ginger, garlic and chillies. |
12. Add two teaspoons of Soya sauce. |
13. Add two tablespoons of tomato sauce. |
14. Add half cup water. |
15. Let it cook over medium heat for 5 minutes. |
16. Add the fried chicken breast pieces. |
17. Mix well and cook for 5 more minutes. |
18. Garnish with chopped spring onions and serve. |
